Jesus D Gonzalez Lugo, MD

Dr. Gonzalez Lugo is a board-certified, fellowship-trained hematologist/oncologist. His clinical and research interests include myelodysplastic syndromes, CMML, VEXAS syndrome and acute leukemias.

He is the principal investigator for multiple ongoing studies focused on higher-risk MDS and acute myeloid leukemias. He is the recipient of numerous awards including the ASH Abstract Achievement Award, SOHO Young Investigator Award, the European Hematology Association Young Investigator Travel Grant and, most recently, the Robert A. Winn Excellence in Clinical Trials Career Development Award.

Dr. Gonzalez Lugo earned his medical degree from Universidad de Monterrey, Monterrey, Mexico (Cum Laude) and completed his internal medicine residency at Jacobi Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He proceeded to complete his hematology and oncology fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, where he also served as chief fellow.
