Kenneth P Byrd, DO

Dr. Ken Byrd is a board-certified hematologist and oncologist who specializes in the care of patients with acute leukemia. He is actively engaged in research and serves as the principal investigator for multiple actively enrolling acute leukemia trials.

He has a great passion for accompanying his patients on their cancer journey and takes pride in spending the extra time needed at the bedside communicating the plan of care. He works hard to ensure each patient is getting the absolute best care possible.

Dr. Byrd serves on the national Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) leukemia committee as well as the National Clinical Trials Network acute lymphoblastic leukemia working group.

He completed his residency at the University of Kansas and his fellowship at the University of Tennessee.

Dr. Byrd is a proud husband and father of 4. You can often find him coaching his kids in a multitude of sports. In his free time, he enjoys a good beach vacation, being involved in his church, playing piano and cheering on his hometown sports teams.
