Kiran Kakarala, MD

Dr. Kiran Kakarala is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He completed a fellowship at Ohio State University Jones Cancer Center. He earned his medical degree from and completed his residency at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Kakarala believes in a compassionate and patient-centered approach to providing cutting-edge multidisciplinary treatment to patients with head and neck cancers and other head and neck conditions. With fellowship training in head and neck surgical oncology, microvascular free flap reconstruction and minimally invasive techniques, including robotic surgery, he is able to provide state-of-the-art, high-quality care that optimizes cure, function and appearance. Dr. Kakarala and the multidisciplinary team at the National Cancer Institute-designated The University of Kansas Cancer Center seek to support patients and their families through every step of the process from diagnosis, to treatment, to recovery and survivorship. Alongside his clinical practice, he conducts research to improve the quality of head and neck cancer care and has delivered presentations to national and international audiences.
